Williamsbubb
At Bubb School
May 20, 2011

(If you like, you can skip down through the prose and go straight to the pictures below!)

There's a reason why Williamsbubb is an icon. It stands for something.

Beyond the teaching of history to 5th Graders (and the rest of the classes), there's a whisper that's never published. It's the thread that gently links the Bubb School Community and all the neighborhoods where Bubb School lives. It works to bring history alive.

Teachers, parents and volunteers make Williamsbubb such a special event. Where else can you think of an event that takes place in one day, rises from the confines of a 40' x 8' x 8' contianter full of stuff that is only pulled out starting at 6:30 AM, expands into a community of 14 shops, flanked by a 40', two-masted ship, is run by 100 5th graders, and is storred back in the container by about 4:00 PM the same day.

Robert Poling & Gayle Dyer organized an incredible crew of over 50 volunteers that did everything from set up to tear down and help students with all of the booths. Here's the list - appologies to anyone left off. Let us know and we'll add your name!

It even took a team to prepare a community-size lunch for 100 5th Graders plus the volunteers! Jenny Patterson organized that team, and what a lunch it was! If you see these great people, tell them how good it was!
