Williamsbubb
At Bubb School
April 3, 2009

(If you like, you can skip down through the prose and go straight to the pictures below!)

There's a reason why Williamsbubb is an icon. It stands for something.

Beyond the teaching of history to 5th Graders (and the rest of the classes), there's a whisper that's never published. It's the thread that gently links the Bubb School Community and all the neighborhoods where Bubb School lives. It works to bring history alive.

What makes Williamsbubb so special is the people who make it happen. Where else can you think of an event that takes place in one day, but has a 40' x 8' x 8' contianter full of stuff that is only pulled out starting at 7:30 am, and is storred by about 3:30 pm the same day.

The Steering Committee included:

Robert Poling, Adria Goad, Michelle De La Ossa, Dana Ambrisko, Kristine Oku, Greg D’Augusta, and Renee Casali, plus over 50 volunteers that did everything from set up to tear down and helps students with all of the booths.

There's also a table of movie clips you might enjoy. You can click on the "YouTube" word and the movie will open in a new window on the YouTube site where it will be larger, and you can even blow it up to full screen. (Since this was shot on a digital camera it will be a bit pixelated in large size.)

If you'd like an original file of any of the photos (the displayed ones are reduced to 800 x 600), just email Rick Van Mell.
