Going Green Potluck In The Park

It was a great way to start off another season of the Bubb Park MOthers & Dogs Society Potlucks In The Park. Jenny Patterson offered the theme of "Going Green" and everybody piled on in style. While the "green" could be color or earth-friendly, there was creativity aplenty.

Green salad was simple, as were green snap peas, plus guacamole and green tortilla chips. Cole slaw had green as did spinach dip, celery sticks, and Allegra & Mira's home garden salad with fresh picked mint leaves. Exotics added orzo and green beans, and cheese toasted spinach, plus baked dishes and penne with peas. Why even the chocolate dipped strawberries had freshness, and, let's see, the Costco sheet cake has green stems on the icing carrots, and we'll bet (hope) the carrots were organic.

But any way you counted, it was a good time for all. Attendance ranked up there with our best, with 82 people representing 30 families, with 33 kids, plus 11 happy dogs. We particularly enjoyed having a number of new families join us and hope they will be around for many more. Here's the whole list:

It was delightful to have a field full of kids entertaining themselves while parents and friends got a chance to catch up. Good weather, good friends, good food and good fun made it a great evening.
